Firaq! sar meiN saudaa bhi nahiN

1. sar meiN saudaa bhi nahiN dil meiN tamanaa bhi nahiN
lekin iss tarq-e-muhabbat ka bharosaa bhi nahiN

[There is no determination in the mind, nor is there any desire in the heart
But, this very act of reliquishing love is not that trustworthy]

Firaq seems to have broken up with his lover(tarq-e-muhobath), but seems
half-hearted about it.

2. yooN to hangaame uthathe nahiN deewaana-e-ishq
magar ei dost kuchch aisoN ka thikaanaa bhi nahiN

[Normally, lovers do not make too much noise
But, my friend, one cannot say about such people]

3. muddateN guzriN teri yaad bhi aayee na hameN
aur ham bhool gaye hoN tujhe, aisaa bhi nahiN

[It has been a while and I have not remembered you
And, it is not so, that I have forgotten you]

4. muNh se ham apne buraa to nahiN kehthe, ke 'firaq'
haiN tera dost magar aadmi achchaa bhi nahiN

[I do not say anything bad about myself, that 'firaq'
He is your friend, but he is not a good man]
