Marzi hai patango ki aayey ki nahin aayey,
Shama ko to
jalna hai, parwaano say kya lena !

Miltay hi nazar unsay armaan machaltay hain,
Par unko
meray dil kay armaano say kya lena !

Lagta hai yeh ki jheel ki gharayee kuch nahin,
Unki haseen
aankh mein jab jaanktay hain hum !
[It seems as if the depth of the lake is nothing,
Whenever I
look deep into her eyes !]
Maangay agar woh jaan bhi haazir hai doston,
Unki koi bhi
baat kahan taaltay hain hum !
[If she demands, I can even sacrifice my life for her,

Vaada hai unka raat mein aanay ka ae `Murad'
Har raat is
khayaal say ab jaagtay hain hum !
