donoN insaaN haiN to kyoN itnay hijaboN maiN milaiN

[You are not God, nor are you my love angel
Both of us are humans, then why do we meet in veils]

4. ab na woh haiN, na woh tu haiN, na woh maazi haiN 'faraz'
jaisay do shakhs tammanna kay saraboN maiN milaiN

[Now neither is she there, nor are you there, nor is the past there "faraz"
It was all as if two persons met in an illusion of wishes/desires]

ghum-e dunya bhi ghum-e yaar mein shamil kar lo
nasha bartha hain sharabein jo sharaboon maiN milaiN

aaj hum daar peh khainche gaye jin batooN per
kya Ajub kul woh zamane ko nisaboon maiN milaiN
